The Manual Handling Regulations of 1992
Employers need to comply with the requirements set out in the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 as well as the requirement in the manual handling regulations 1992.
An employer has a duty to avoid Manual Handling as far as reasonably practicable if there is a possibility of injury.
Poor manual handling is one of the most frequent causes of injury at work and accounts for over a third of all workplace injuries.
It is indeed a requirement to address manual handling however considering it is one of the biggest causes of lost production to an employer then surely it’s just good sense to deliver employee training.
There is perhaps no simpler, quick and cost-effective method than video training via DVD.
